Consumers who have problems with inaccurate price reading by grocery checkout scanners may contact their local County Weights and Measures office: Weights and Measures (County)


The California Department of Food and Agriculture Measurement Standards has jurisdiction over each county's County Weights and Measures office.

The Office of the Attorney General, California Department of Justice, Public Inquiry Unit takes complaints about grocery checkout scanners and will investigate a particular entity if a pattern of abuse is established.
