Free prizes and gifts or free prize promotions are often offered to consumers through mailings. If you have fallen victim to a free prize and/or gift promotion scheme, you may file a complaint with your local postmaster or nearest postal inspector.

Consumers victimized by fraudulent advertisements offering free prizes and gifts may contact the Office of the Attorney General.

The Operations Support Group will advise consumers against scams offered by mail. If money is involved consumer will be mailed a complaint form. The Postal Inspector will pursue the claim only after receiving a written complaint. They also handle mail fraud, identity fraud, mail theft, and mail tampering.
