A pawnbroker lends money at interest in exchange for personal property (including motor vehicles) left with him or her as security. Pawnbrokers are required to be licensed by the California Department of Justice and must obtain a seller's permit from the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration. Automobile pawnbrokers also require a dealer's license from the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).


Provides background checks for the licensing agencies that issue licenses for pawnbrokers and Second hand dealers.
