The U.S. Department of Transportation, Consumer Affairs Division, provides information about air travelers' rights and helps resolve consumer problems with providers of commercial air transportation services. The department does not regulate safety, security, or cargo.
The Department of Transportation has jurisdiction over complaints relating to: delays, cancellations, over sale of reservation, luggage, frequent flyer programs, ticketing, disabled access, fares, advertising, refunds, tours and charters, smoking on international flights.
