Gross Domestic Product (GDP) refers to production taking place in the United States, including that of foreign residents, whereas Gross National Product (GNP) refers to total production by U.S. residents, including the portion which occurs abroad.

The Department of Finance, Economic Research Unit, provides statistics on the California economy (i.e. personal income, gross state product, consumer price index).
