Anyone who serves 10 or more legal notices per year must register with the local county clerk's office (Business and Professions Code section 22350).
Registration Fees, filing of a $2,000 bond, and two (2) sets of Fingerprints are part of the requirements to register as a Process Server.
Exceptions: Any sheriff, marshal or government employee, attorney or his employees, licensed investigators, employees of registered process server, any person appointed by a court or employee of a nonprofit or fraternal organization who doesn't receive a fee for their services.
