Anyone who serves 10 or more legal notices per year must register with the local county clerk's office (Business and Professions Code section 22350). See local telephone directory for nearest office.

Registration Fees, filing of a $2,000 bond, and two (2) sets of Fingerprints are part of the requirements to register as a Process Server.

Exceptions: Any sheriff, marshal or government employee, attorney or his employees, licensed investigators, employees of registered process server, any person appointed by a court or employee of a nonprofit or fraternal organization who doesn't receive a fee for their services.
