A common, recent scam has been for unscrupulous businesses to bill businesses, churches, and fraternal and charitable organizations for office supplies that were never ordered. Consumers should report fax, copier, or other office supplies fraud to the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice (Attorney General) and also any U.S. Post Office.
To report fraud. The FTC runs "Project BOSS (Banish Office Supply Scams)" a grass-roots based business education initiative regarding office supply fraud. Project BOSS is a multi-faceted partnership to help the people who work at small businesses or non-profits spot and dodge fraud.
