The Department of Fair Employment and Housing takes complaints on employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, sex, or age, (over 40). Such discrimination includes sexual harassment, pregnancy leave, family or medical leave, accommodation of disabilities, acts of violence, or discrimination in public services or accommodations.

For complaints of discrimination encountered in buying or renting a house or renting an apartment, securing a housing loan; discrimination related to real estate broker services, advertising (house availability), or "block busting", write HUD within 180 days of discriminatory act.
