This office investigates complaints about discrimination in medical services or personal mistreatment relative to discriminatory practices. Convalescent homes that accept Medi-Cal and Medicaid patients and who practice discrimination should be reported to Department of Health Services.</p>

Federal level for administration of health care programs. Individuals should call for instructions to file a complaint if they are discriminated against by welfare, health agencies, or hospitals because of race, origin, age, or handicap.
