The 'California Department of Social Services oversees qualification for and distribution of the Food Stamp Program for low-income families, and school lunch programs. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Services authorizes the release of food stamps to retail stores that participate in this program.

The Department of Agriculture authorizes the release of food stamps to retail stores. All other questions (qualification for stamps, etc.) should be directed to the California Department of Social Services.
