The California Department of Fish and Wildlife, together with the Fish and Wildlife Commission and the Wildlife Conservation Board, is responsible for managing the natural resources of fish and wildlife in California. The department enforces Fish and Wildlife Commission regulations, manages wildlife areas and ecological reserves acquired by the Wildlife Conservation Board, and administers programs to benefit the state's fish and wildlife resources. The department issues fishing, hunting, and other related licenses.
Complaint Jurisdiction
Violations of the Fish and Wildlife Code or the California Administrative Code sections pertaining to the Fish and Wildlife Commission.
Complaints Outside Jurisdiction:
Treatment of domestic animals or wildlife programs within the jurisdiction of local fish and Wildlife commissions or county boards of supervisors; availability of regulations for a particular hunting or fishing season before the opening day.
