To assist consumers in using the variety of procedures available to collect what they are owed, refer them to the California Department of General Services pamphlet, "Collecting your Small Claims Judgement." The "Collecting your Small Claims Judgement" pamphlet will tell judgement creditors when and how to use the procedures for collecting judgement, obtaining and using a writ of execution, and claiming interest and court costs. It includes sample letters to the judgement debtor, instructions to the sheriff, marshal or constable, and suggestions on what to do to collect what is owed.
