Complaint Resolution Program (DCA)
From Consumer Wiki
|
The California Department of Consumer Affairs, Complaint Resolution Program, mediates consumer complaints involving industries regulated by the following programs:
Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS), Bureau of Electronic and Appliance Repair (BEAR), Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR), Bureau of Home Furnishings and Thermal Insulation (BHFTI), and the Cemetery and Funeral Bureau (CFB).
The Complaint Resolution Program works with disputing parties to promote a mutually acceptable resolution. The impartial representative will examine issues and facts involved in the dispute and will assist in resolution. Representatives can propose terms to settle disputes but will not dictate settlement terms. If disputes cannot be resolved through mediation, the Program may refer the consumer to small claims court or other civil remedy, if appropriate.
Complaint jurisdiction:
<p>Resolves consumer disputes in these areas: Possible refunds deposits, repairs/rework, service
exchange, warranties, service contracts, contract compliance.
Complaints outside jurisdiction:
Complaints that do not fall under department jurisdiction will be referred to the appropriate agency.
