Carpet cleaners are not licensed by any state agency; therefore, complaints may be directed to the Better Business Bureau mediation process, Small Claims Court, or addressed by civil resolution.
The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification provides certification of technicians and firms working in the carpet and upholstery cleaning industry. They also establish and maintain standards in industry for various cleaning procedures.
