The Boat Owners Association of the United States, Consumer Protection Bureau (CPB), (see below) serves as a mediator in disputes between dissatisfied boat owners and the marine industry. It accepts complaints against its members about safety defects, warranty service, poor work by dealers, and boat yards. CPB offers mediation between boat owners and the marine industry, monitors safety defect problems with the U.S. Coast Guard, and provides assistance with individual boating problems.
