Board Certified (Physician)
From Consumer Wiki
|
Board certification is a voluntary private program that a licensed medical doctor may obtain. Physicians who wish to have specific recognition of their accomplishments and efforts to meet the criteria of competency and maintain their skills may choose to become "Board Certified". These physicians must complete their academic program, residency training, and then take an oral and written exam administered by a medical specialty board.
Contact the American Board of Medical Specialty to verify whether a physician is board certified.
