"Blood bank" defines any place where human whole blood, and human whole blood derivatives specified by regulation, are collected, prepared, tested, processed, or stored, or from which human whole blood or human whole blood derivatives specified by regulation are distributed.
A person who has attained the age of 15 may consent to the donation of his or her blood and to the penetration of tissue which is necessary to accomplish such donation, and a blood bank may accept such donations (California Health and Safety Code, Division 2, Chapter 4, beginning with Section 1600).
