Asbestos

The California Department of Consumer Affairs, Contractors State License Board (CSLB), licenses and regulates all contractors who are qualified to do asbestos work in buildings.
In addition, the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CAL/OSHA) has the responsibility of registering all contractors who perform asbestos abatement work, and CSLB tests and certifies all asbestos abatement consultants. California law prohibits any person from advertising for the removal of asbestos unless certified. The law also requires that the contractor's license number be included in the advertisement. CSLB also tests them prior to licensure.
